After I came up with the idea of doing this I did a lot of procrastinating when it came to research. I mainly relied on these two sources:

TravellingTwo – These two provided a third route which I switch to for the second half of my trip. They provided good ideas for campsites and even take you off-road in the south-east corner. I liked their route but be careful many of their noted campsites are camper van only sites now. Be wary of their descriptions of hills, having been riding for a long time when they wrote this I think they’ve become a little desensitized.

Discover Tasmania – I used this to figure out a rough speed and place names. They provide elevations and 2 routes over either 1 or 2 weeks. A great document. I found their descriptions of difficulty and speed to be accurate.

I also bought the hard copy of TasMaps 1:250000, which where good for figuring out my route and navigating. Be warned, they aren’t water/tear resistant. I had to tape up the seams and keep dry.
